The Posh Wed Show

Saturday February 19th I attended The Posh Wed Show at the summit rooftop of The Marriott Hotel with Michelle. This event was a wonderful way to spend an evening out getting to know each other while socializing with the many vendors that were in attendance.
Michelle was looking for bridal jewelry to compliment her gown. I met the lovely Isobel Walker of Bel Bridal at other events and was able to visit with her and see her beautiful collection. I thought that these two ladies should meet. Michelle loved the jewelry and has picked out a design that she likes. I am so happy that I was able to help her find a designer that can help her achieve the look that she wants.
This would not have been possible without wedding shows. These events that showcase wedding vendors and their businesses help you become aware of what services and possibilities are out there in the Ottawa\Gatineau area.
There was an ice sculpture by the bar created by iceculture inc. The bartender poured our cosmos through the top and into martini glasses. What a beautiful and captivating idea for your cocktail hour, entertaining and yummy. We also sampled cupcakes from Little Cakes and cake balls on a stick from The Flour Shoppe. They were so good! There was so much to see and do. We saw amazing wedding cakes from It's a Matter Of Cake and posed for pictures at the Shutter Bug Booth. This was a first for the both of us but we had a blast laughing and smiling for the camera. This concept is alot of fun and I can see why it is so popular at events.
Lilac Lingerie has great ideas for bridal showers and bachelorette parties not to mention the unmentionables. Then there was Kate from Whalebone Catering, she introduced us to one of her tasty treats. A wonderful combination of salmon and something sweet. There were gorgeous flower arrangements by Ottawa Flowers and also Full Bloom. So many talented people all in one room. I can't forget First Kiss Films, the name itself is perfect. I met Bridget the lady behind the lens, beautiful moments captured by a vintage camera. It brought me back to high school and our grade ten media class. We had to work with an 8mm camera and film a video. After editing, the end result was a captivating work of art.
Wedding shows can be fun and informative. I recommend that you at least try one. The Ottawa Wedding Show and The Wedding Palace Bridal Show are two of the shows that are well known in Ottawa. Smaller more intimate shows are now making their debut such as Wed By Hand and The Posh Wed Show.
The Posh Wed Show was a unique experience. My congratulations go out to Wendy from Beyond Events for all her hard work and preparation. This event really gave Brides and Grooms a posh vision of what there wedding could be like.

Till Next Time
Tracey
