I don’t know about you but I just love things that are creative and different. The top of my list for alternatives for the traditional wedding guest book would have to be the handmade wooden chair that guests engrave their wedding wishes into. I’ve see this idea before, the bride’s father made her an octagon picnic table which all her family and friends signed. She was able to display it in her yard after the wedding.
Depending on your tastes and the amount of space you have at your venue there are a few different things you might like but have seen before. Such as the birdcage… to make it fun add a coloured feather to the paper the guests will sign. Place love birds inside the cage.
Scrapbooks are also a very creative way to have your guests express their wishes and advice. Pictures can be taken during the reception and later added to the book.
Wishing trees are also popular and can be decorated to match your wedding theme. Make it fun and encourage your guests to write about their fondest memories of you while growing up.
If you want to keep things simple but still have a keepsake, have your guests sign a ceramic vase that you can later display in your new home as a married couple.
Have guests place their wedding wishes in a glass vase. They can be put into a special book after the wedding.
Put your engagement picture in a mat and display it at your reception for your guests to sign. It’s a great memento and can be used later to decorate your wall at home.
For the nature lovers out there…. Decorative stones that your guests can sign with love words and advice. Add them to a crystal or wooden bowl and you have a conversation piece for your coffee table that will get people talking.
Make personalized post cards that your guests can sign and add to a custom mail box.
Remember to always have fun, be creative and laught often.
Till Next Time
